Location: Living Room | Byron's Residence | Pine Ridge, South Dakota

Lucy was aware of Byron's absence and the occasional appearances he would make while making sure everything was safe and sound in Pine Ridge. She, too, had been busy doing things in town as well as traveling to other places at least once or twice a year like Florida and Greece. Once a month, she would go to Byron's house for a cleaning. Not that it needed to be clean but the smell of dust was strong enough for her to sneeze and she couldn't bear to ignore it much longer. His bedsheets were due to be washed and thankfully, she didn't have to worry about a single drop of human blood staining on the material. She hoped with all the hard work she had done, it would once again show Byron the unconditional love she has for him.

Hours went by and the sky turned dark as Lucy sat quietly on the living room sofa with Max and Cersei sleeping next to her. Cersei is a rescue dog she adopted a few years back and she's named after a character in Game of Thrones. She's a long-haired Chihuahua Papillon mix and has slowly been recovering from an unpleasant beginning of her life. Physically, mentally and psychologically. During the first few months, Lucy was unsure if Cersei and Max would get along and despite her concerns, she calmed down as she watched the two of them play together and formed a bond. For a moment, it reminded her of the family bond Byron and his sister Katherine shared since childhood. The thought of it made her smile as her fingernails gently scratched Cersei's head.

The silence in the living room ended abruptly when the front door opened and the little dog moved away from Lucy's side, her growls low and trilled. Like a motorcycle engine beginning to start. Max, on the other hand, reacted differently. Jumping off the couch, he rushed his way to the visitor, recognizing who it was. He purred and rubbed his head against his leg as a way of saying, "Welcome home."

Lucy stood up from the couch and turned around, her blue-grey eyes looking straight into another pair of blue hues. It was then she knew why Max was more excited than Cersei. Byron Wetherly is back in town. She blinked a few times, making sure she wasn't dreaming. She had to know for certain it was really him and not another supernatural being taking control of his mind and body. They had been through an experience where Nicholas possessed him over a decade ago but now that it was done and over with, all they can do is to move forward and have better, brighter days. Starting with spending as much time with the love of her life as possible.

Realizing she had been deep in thought for more than 5 minutes, Lucy's eyes blinked one last time and smiled happily as she managed to speak only one word.

"Hi."
